he quickly distinguished himself as one of the top runners in
Kenya. He won a bronze medal in the 5000m at the All-Africa Jr.
Championships in 2001. He experienced the US road circuit in 2003
and came back in 2004 with a goal of being one of the top competitive
road runners.
